Having lived in the UK during the last 4 of Tony Blair's 10 years as Prime Minister, I have to wonder the same thing about this polemic that I wonder when the American Right levels similar criticisms against President Obama: Is it really fair to hang this on the "new guy"? It's not like this global recession happened overnight. I had a friend in Scotland who was in banking who was warning me in 2006 about the impending downturn in the US housing market, and the impact it would have on the UK as well. I just have trouble buying that our economic maladies can be blamed on Obama, or Brown for that matter, despite his slightly longer tenure.
On the other hand, it's pretty cool to see a politician mouthing-off to the "Big Dog" like that...at least they do it to each other's faces.
I believe in a fair and open dialog, and as such I choose to refrain from removing comments posted on my blog unless those comments are of an obscene nature. From time to time, persons visiting my blog may post comments which are objectionable or even offensive. If you choose to read the comment thread of any post, please note that I do not support offensive language, nor do I wish to promote petty bickering and quarrels. But in the interest of keeping dialog open so that relationships might be built, I will often tolerate these comments while seeking to respond to them in a loving way. With that said, I ask that all who choose to comment on my blog please do so with a measure of respect for one another.
